If true, it will be the last time I buy a Craftsman tool. Plenty of other companies out there that replace hand tools.
Like I'm going to find a receipt for a ratchet I bought 20 years ago. Not only that but you'd have to put the receipts in a nitrogen buffer and in the dark so the ink doesn't dissapear.
Never mind, check out the bottom of the pdf link below.

hope they don't but I see it could be a possibility.
the Craftsman Club used to offer a 10% discount off any tool purchase including sale items(even though they managed to avoid running sales and the club ad at the same time except for stuff they needed to move), now the discount is on "selected items only" what a waste, needless to say they can shove the Club as it offers no real benefits except to increase/maintain snail mail patronage.Da Threadkilla

Craftsman Club....where anyone can buy the same thing as you for the same price. I dumped that club in '94, after walking in,purchasing a sale item, showing my club I.D., only to have the guy behind me come up and get it for the same price with no membership, and he didn't even mention price to them. As far as receipts,it would be hard for them to start that now, and would put a huge dent in Craftsman sales IMO, 'cause some of their tools are second/third rate.
If everything was always done "by the book"....the book would never change.

I think the mix of K-mart and Sears tools in the stores is going to be a big problem for them....happy home owner goes to Sears thinking ALL sears tools have a life time warranty...picks up the K-mart brand (seen them cant think of then name)...tool on the shelf next to Sears brand...tool breaks...brings it back gets told tool is not Sears brand so tuff luck....but in this persons mind its a "Sears" tool because he purchased it at Sears......so all Sears tools are junk and Sears does NOT give a life time warranty.

personally, ive given up on craftsman tools because of the bs involved in the replacement process,(showing receipts, accused of improper use of the tool, etc....). ive been purchasing snap-on tools, and have been extremly satisfied with their tools. even called the guy late at night and had tools brought to the job that i needed without question! and to boot no extra charge!

Does anyone know of a good address that a guy can write to and file complaints with sears? I know that it wont do much good , but coast to coast their tools have become so overpriced and they are such junk thatsomething has to be done .
Out here they have sold"sears" brand tools for awile. right next to the "sears "tools are the "sears craftsman" tools
They have been made to look Identical but only the tools that say craftsman on them have the replacement or repair warentee
If you bring in a ratchet that is broken, they will now repair it with a kit instead of replacing it
Use a screwdriver as a chisel or a prybar and it breaks you are SOL
I hate the idea of paying twice the price for snap on tools or another major brand, but quality is a thing of the past for sears
They are all out for the quick buck, selling cordless tools
