First, can I connect a cable between the rooftop AHU's MP580 and the equipment room PC 60' away with no problems?
If so, what is the pinout for each end?
    CAT5 cable, right?

I dont know much about the MP580. Is that a Lon bus that you want to connect to? If so, 60' is not a problem. If it is an ethernet bus that is no problem either.
If it is the phone style jack for the comm bus, the wall sensors use the 2 middle pins. The wall sensors are the narrow (phone handset-like) version of the RJ-11 connector.

Another question: Can I connect to the Comm5 cable at the Summit panel with Rover? It would save me from running that 60' cat5.

Ahhh yes, you can connect on the link at any point and get to where you want to program. You can even run Rover pass through from the workstation if you have the ability.

I wouldn't suggest running rover pass through on the workstation, unless you have some time to kill. It's designed for remote access for a job that is 2+ hrs away to try and save a trip.

Or in the same building and you don't want to make the elevator trip 4 floors.

It is not too bad. If you have say 12 or so Lon devices on the comm. link then is usually as fast as being plugged in.

I attached the rover RJ adapter jumpers to the termination resistor(?) at the Summit comm5 terminals and connected, monitored, and downloaded programs with no problems.
Man this is a lot easier than the Staefa RS controls.
