    Carrier 19EA Losing oil under low load

    During low load the oil level drops low enough to cause a shut down due to low OP. Was wondering it we were losing it to the evaporator through the demisters because of no differencial psi?

    What is your approach and are your flow rates correct? What do you mean by no diff. Are you running really cold cond water. I have had to over charge in the past to get oil to return during low load. I also would like to know the discharge temp. and other log readings. Help a brother help you.

    If everything is ok, then your next step would be the rear motor bearing.

    That always was a problem with 19EA's. Sometimes we added oil in spring and fall and removed it in the summer. 'course that was before all those CFC regs took effect in the 90's.

    High speed laby seal assembly

    Sounds like you need to get your head pressure up thereby feeding high pressure refrigerant vapor to your high speed Kingsbury bearing assimbly. With low discharge pressure the oil will be lost through the laby seal into the motor housing and then into the evaporator area. Get your head pressure up.

    Yes PHd I believe this is whats happening this is the no diff.. I was referring to there demisters behind the thrust assy and there should be a sigh diff psig between the crankcase and the motor housing but with low condenser psig this cannot be achived.. hopefully I'm on the right tract thanks for help al feed back is welcome
