On the top of condenser.

generally they will be on the condenser, evap, oil sump if seperate from compressor, discharge line. if a component can be isolated or valved out it can have a relief valve.

that was not the question you first asked. compressors will also have a internal pressure relief valve.

sorry I was talking a bout the refrigeration circuit not the water circuit.

the refrigerant side is what I am talking about. it can have several relief valves.

Good, so if that is right what is the right place to have that valve the Cond. or the Comp.?

both could be required depends on isolation valve placement.
