Okay, I guess I'm at the back of the class as well. Never heard of PVE.

That POE is Terrible........ problems with Hydrolization......leaves carboxylic acid goo in the system when it brakes down....into it's parent compounds which of course are carboxylic acid ....and alcohol. here is one article:

I know POE is based on alcohol and acid, which make it the good cleaning agent that it is.

I thought when it broke down, it created organic salts.

and that if absorbed enough water, it could separate and revert back to being alcohol and acid in separate components.

If I'm remembering correctly.

but when cared for correctly POE is a good lubricant.

I saw that.

Put it in your Service Truck and you can eliminate the Oil filter, and Muffler!

Put it in your lawnmower, It cuts the grass for you!

The part that really bothered me was the "similar characteristics to PAG oil...." was there not some problems with that stuff?


I just saw the PVE is sold in 12oz cans. I am NOT pumping oil in a Rack Via 12 oz cans. 4 pumps, new can. 4 pumps, new can. 4 pumps, new can. Can you imagine doing a full oil change of 7-15 Gallons? Multiple times? The store would be screaming at you.....

I'm not ready to cry 'snake oil' just yet. Doug, have you been using this stuff, getting good results? Anyone else using this stuff?

No Russell.

It is such a superior lubricant that the Rack will only require (1) 12oz can.

The PVE will permanently bond itself to all metal to metal surfaces.

In many cases, you can even remove the oil separator.

Check out the list of compressor manufacturers which approve it. I think it's something to keep an eye on in the future.

I wonder what the viscosity equivalents are compared to MO or POE?

I'm no chemist...but the oils we are familiar with have viscosity grades of ISO 32 and ISO68, which for mineral oil would correspond to 3GS and 4GS. AB, POE and PVE oils are rated similarly.

I think if you put west african stud buzzard manure in your hair and hang a 30# jug of 410a (you know...the pretty pink can ) off yer 'Ernie' ....it should make them both grow....
It's got a lot of better characteristics than POE and I f$%^ing hate POE.
