no, new employer is a larger mech contractor been waiting for position to open , my son in law works there and I used to work with the service manager at another large contractor

whatever they offer do not accept.
I would do verbal.
I would have all my stuff out of the truck and make sure nothing is missing. Unless they took a inventory of your van when you hired on there is nothing that can take out of your check. Even if there was an inventory you would have had to sign something that says you were liable for lost or stolen tools.

pay day is on thursday night! for work through wednesday

most guys call in sick thursday get paid thursday at midnight and drop their truck off friday!
that is as much notice as i have ever seen!

usually worried about missing tools taken out of their last check!

Most of the time I have done it in writing, except when the boss was an idiot. I would always let them know how they can improve as a boss without being too critical. The last time I did this it did make a difference in their operation. So at least it made things better for the techs that stayed there.

Also it gives you a good chance to get everything off your chest that you wanted to say while you were in their employ, but never felt you could.

The ideal way is through an exit interview, but that rarely happens. I find that a written document that covers all the bases is the next best thing. I always leave without any hard feelings on either side.

am clearing most of my personal stuff off this weekend just in case they decide to tell me to just leave,only thing missing off truck is 1 phillps screwdriver(high voltage) cost about $25 to replace. I dont expect them to offer more money they didnt want to pay what they pay me now.

3$ an hour is 120 bucks before taxes. Hope the new place has plenty of work? Last hired first to go in slow times. Try not to burn bridges but expect the worst on Monday and hope for the best. Bosses seem to take an employee leaving personnel. Do verbal exit with written in hand just in case they tell you to go. Let them know that leaving is nothing personnel just trying to make life better for your family. Hope this helps and good luck at your new gig.
