I didn't go through the thread to see, but if the house has siding and the time comes to replace it, it would be a good time to look into exterior insulation at that time.
An answer without a question is meaningless.
    Information without understanding is useless.

The exterior currently is plywood, tyvex, vinyl siding. If the time ever comes to re-side, I will certainly add insulation.. We had our old house re-sided, and the contractor used a wrap and a half-inch insulation board, wow, what a difference! (that house was built in 1930)
So based on this latest thread (and the assumption that I did the measurements correctly, etc) should I be pretty good with going with the 80k modulating furnace? Any other thoughts? Thanks, Mike

thanks guys. I feel better about this since I did my own calcs. Now at least if it turns out wrong I can blame myself, I like to take responsibility for things.
