I'm gonna doubt that happens. Your kinda splitting hairs on the terminology of a slide valves repair. Plus according to this guy they say the repair kit is NLA.

Not splitting hairs at all ( I dont have any to split :0)), look at a cutaway drawing of the compressor long shaft piston on one end rotor slide on the other . piston end fixable , rotor slide not fixable , Oh and BTW the kit isnt available but the individual parts are.

Did this guy properly do his testing it could be the piston but there are also other things bad solenoids blocked filters behind the solenoids or lip seal on compressor.what Healey said about the screw is true it happened to me but on 10 pistons I have replaced it happened once.could you please describe your exact problem and did you check the other things

thats funny pat, I could go into the whole process but half the guys on here would start bleeding out the ears. so ya i've been through everything. and as far as parts I'm just trying to get the local guys started in the right direction, I'll double check before I order anything.

    Tks for the compliment .
Last time I went to the parts dept and the parts guy doesnt know what I want I sit down with and look on the screen at the cutaway drawing for what I want and say " I need 1 of those and 3 of these and 6 of those and heres a PO tks" Let me know when the parts arrive .

I dont mind giving advice on what to look for for problem solving but if I have to look up all the parts for you ......Hell I may as well come fix the damm thing too.

And BTW the parts guys can look up the old KIT #%## and it will tell them what parts used to be in that kit by part # so I really dont see what the problem is ??

I just looked this up and it took 30 seconds and I'm not a parts man. I don't understand why your parts guy couldn't find this. Notice what I highlighted in red.........Also, don't forget your discharge line gasket.......
