an abomination
Customer called and asked i we would come do a Fall Maintnance on her heat pump system. She also stated that the CONTRACTOR that installed the "system" has not returned her call to do the service!!! She gave me the installation reciept, to my dismay it WAS installed by a local "contractor" and it was installed one year prior to picture... Reciept said "NEW" Heat Pump system.... I REALLY detest the scabs of our industry!!!

that's just sad!

I'd really like to say what I think about that crap, but..............
It`s better to be silent and thought the fool; than speak and remove all doubt.

I blame the contractor for shoddy work, but at the same time the homeowner let this happen. It isn't that hard to spot someone who is half a$$ing it.
You saw the receipt, did they get what they paid for?

This is very true!! However, there are some factions of homeowners that define ignorance! This was one of those homeowners that was just sooo nieve, the contractor just clearly fleeced her. She did question the installation but the "professional" insisted that it was "the only option, unless she wanted it in the corner of her living room". As far as get what you pay for, he charged her more than most would charge for a 16 SEER!

I did however find it my responsibility to inform the homeowner of the georgia professional industry licencing board. I usually advise unhappy homeowners to try to settle their grievances with the company involved, as I would like the chance if I had an unhappy client. But this is nearly criminal and destructive to our trades public image.

I understand, and agree that some homeowners are way too naive and easily influenced by a pushy contractor. It is a shame, it makes all of us look bad. Sounds like you have done the right thing.

The Install matches the yard.
I'm guessing that's the front door to the place?

I want to take pics of our jobs and those of others, great selling technique. I hope to never take a pic (of our install) like that! Great eye opener! Wonder why the guy was cheaper? He problem was paid more!
