Santorum poll:
If Rick Santorum did get the Republican nomination, how would you vote in November?
If you don't vote, you cannot post any opinions.Government is a disease......masquerading as its own cure…Ecclesiastes 10:2 NIV

I like that you at least gave both candidates three boxes to check.

You do realize that this site has a much higher ratio of conservatives than are out in the real world? So this poll might be interesting but its a poor sample for November. As far as me personally I'm still undecided. I would have to look a lot closer at Santorum before agreeing to support him. It would literally take a miracle for him to win IMO. But if anyone can prey for a miracle, I guess its him. And if anyone cares the main reason I dont like him is he should keep his mouth shut about what goes on between consenting adults. And the fact that he hasn't among other things makes him unelectable.

This is interesting;
http://www.conservativeactionalerts....antorum-surge/Santorum stands out in the current Republican field in the clarity of his image and identity. There is little doubt about who the man is, and there are no glaring inconsistencies between who he says he is today and his past behavior and positions.
That is exactly what I've been saying about Santorum.
His record as a politician does prove though that Santorum can put aside his personal views in order to do what the American people he represents wants him to do. Santorum even voted for continued funding of the NEA, despite his disgust over anti-Christian excrement exhibits. Now that's a leader who understands tolerance and compromise.Government is a disease......masquerading as its own cure…Ecclesiastes 10:2 NIV

I watched some of the debates and liked Santorum. But some of his views concern me. And yes, I believe they would influence the way he governs. Most people will feel that way as well. No way around it IMO. And I've never thought It would get to the point of having to choose him. I still dont think he will get the nod. If he does I'd have to take a much closer look at him. I might be swayed by november to vote for him or I might sit home. At this point I'm not sure. My belief at this time is if he gets the nod Obama would trounce him. Bit its only February so plenty of things can and probably will change.

If Santorum is the GOP nominee...
ANYTHING other than a vote FOR Santorum... IS a vote for Obama. BHO got in, in 2008; because lots of folks stayed home. I do not think we have that luxury again if we want to save our country.
We need to get our heads around how DESTRUCTIVE Obama is to the USA... I have no problem putting a clothespin on my nose and voting for someone I do not particularly like... to get BHO OUT.
A CLOSE second is a conservative congress (both houses) to undo the mess BHO and the DEMS made over recent years.GA-HVAC-Tech

Your starting to sound like a lawyer. At this point for the reasons I mentioned, I'm not sure. I know I wont vote for Obama. But I'm not sure if I would vote for santorum. If the election were tomorrow between those two, I would probably stay home. That could change by november. I might be swayed to support him by then. Time will tell. But I want to say again, I dont think Santorum will get the nomination any way. Politicians that are too opionated about what goes on in the bedroom alienate many voters.

Well, ok, thanks for your opinion. I am not going to change the rules of the poll though. The poll is based on the assumption that Santorum did get the Republican candidacy.
Just so you understand where I am coming from, I'd vote for you or even K-Fridge in order for my vote to be against Obama.Government is a disease......masquerading as its own cure…Ecclesiastes 10:2 NIV

I've noticed this also. I can only attribute this to the fact that many on here own small businesses and/or actually work for a living and foot the bill for the worthless entitlement class. I'd also guess that most are American-Americans and white males between 30-60 which makes up a large conservative bloc.
As to the original thread, I don't like all of Santorum's social beliefs but would happily cast my vote for him vs. Komrade Obama.Avatar is a tribute to my Great Grandfather, Andrew Stewart. This pin was one of his advertisements for his heating and plumbing business. I never knew him but must of inherited his love of things mechanical since I am the only blue collar worker in the family

I would vote for Obummer. IF we can't get a truely conservative nominee on the ballot, then I will vote for MORE socialism, not just socialist-lite, like Santorum.
You "conservatives" don't get it. I don't think you understand what conservatism IS. Santorum is happy to vote for MORE big government. Happy to up the debt ceiling. He will NOT shrink the size of government nor will he reduce spending, despite what he sells you. Look at the voting record to truely know they person you are voting for.
Only ONE canidate was worth MY vote. He was overwhelmingly rejected. Hmmm, I wonder if HIS supporters will do as I am going to.....
"Conservatives" didn't get it when they propped up McPain. They aren't getting it now. The definition of insanity is, doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result each time.
