Man I hate working on these worktop and undercounter boxes.

Frozen evaporator,no chance at doing any trouble shooting with a bunch of people running all around and over you.

Shut it down and will meet them at 6.00 in the morning before the crowd comes in.

Anyway.. anything I sould be aware of on these things? Bad temp control, overfeeding metering device or, fan motors?

I'm assuming being this thing has a wrapped rail that it also has a seperate ciruit, solenoid valve and txv?

I just want to say that I dont miss doing this type of work at all.I mean dont get me wrong, I like troubleshooting. Its just I dont like the working hours or the way one has to twist his body just to work on this type of equipment.

I believe that some of the cold rail/undercounter units have a solenoid in the back. I used to do TB stores in the midwest, and they were notorious for having "temp problems" with the upper rail, that was usually caused by teaching them to keep the underbox doors closed. Didn't have to many of the coolers freeze, but if its a freezer, check the door seals real good. Probably need to be cleaned or they're split in the creases. I don't believe that the cold rails have a txv, I think they're orifice. And if I remember right, if there is a failure in the cold rail, its cheaper to replace the box than get to the coil in the top. I feel ya, I hated working in kitchens. I miss the supermarkets though...call me stupid..

    Delfield

I work on those under counter jobs all too often. I have seen the solenoids hang partially open, causing ice ups. Of course the tstats are often gone bad in the open position. Good luck

    Delfields

The Delfield units I work on in Perkins and Dunkin donuts have solenoids for the inside evap and also for the rail.

    I'm feeling for ya, Don

I don't miss commercial kitchens, ONE BIT!

I'll say one thing though. Nothing gets your oil burner fixin' hands cleaner than scrubbin' the condenser coil on a Traulsen that's right next to the Friolater and the 4' gas griddle. Man, that fuzzy grease will clean everything off your hands!

    I do like boilers....

You feel my pain do ya? I'll take a sooted oil boiler over this box any day.

Thanks guys for the help and advice.I did not spend to much
time on it today but, I did turn it off to see if it would pump down but it would not.

So I disconnect one of the wire on the pressuretrol and went inside to see if I could get lunch at half price.

Thanks again everyone for the advice and yes its a MT box with 404A as the blend of choice.

I'll let you know what I find come tomorrow.
