Leak check
My co-worker and I had to do a leak check on a 100 ton split. Took awhile to find this one.

I have had that happen several times in the past. It usually is covered in oil.

Is that the top of one of the compressors?

Seen that a couple of times recently. Also, had some Carrier danfoss compressors that had a leak at the spot-weld on sides of scroll compressors afew years back. Makes you wonder about quality control, doesn't it? The Tranes had leaks where the tandem bracket welds to top, I assume?

Very interesting, I would have never thought to look there. How did you end up finding it or even make you look there?

Leak detector was going crazy around that area. So my co-worker sprayed a lot of big blu all over the place and he noticed it.
