It's in my back yard. Something about a leaking A-coil and wanting to start the AC NOW.
I guess I'll go make her happy. Now where did I put my 22?Beware of advice given by some guy on the Internet.

70 degrees outside and dark? I would tell her we will come out the next day. My company does not run a/c calls after dark for safety reasons. Tell her to open a window and get some fresh air.

I was for opening the windows and putting a fan in them. But she was pretty insistant. And yes I do like sleeping in my bed and not the couch.

All you have to do is get a tank of that Freezone and a solenoid valve. Put a low pressure switch on the suction side of the system. When ever the back pressure goes below 55 psi the solenoid opens and you shoot the juice to the compressor.
This way you will always be charged up and always live in marital bliss.

You forget about the five minute fix? You open it up so she knows you did something and:
"Geez, hon, the reversing lug on the contactor switch got wet and shorted and the damn thing won't start. I'll have to pick up the part tomorrow. Shucks, I should have checked this thing out last week. You were right. My bad."

Of course you could use a liquid line solenoid and just pump down in the off cycle if you really didn't want to replace the coil... Only lose refrigerant in the run cycle...
