    It can be a great field to get into but there is a lot to know and learn. I started off myself with an associates degree in HVAC/R and I've been in the field for 2 years now. Things may start of difficult and overwhelming with information, but after your out there for a while you'll get the hang of things and be able to learn a lot quicker. This also strongly depends on where, what, and who you're working with. Good Luck!
