    Nordyne Heat Pump Question

I am having Heat Pump replaced and the Air Handler Quoted is now on backorder. JT4BD-030K Condensing unit (2-1/2 ton) and they want to substitute with a three ton Air Handler(GB5BM-M036K-B). Is this a good option? The other option is having the Service Company "Field Construct" a transition to the "A" width Air Handler.

I'm not a Nordyne specialist, though it's nice equipment but I would see no problem with the substitution, provided the blower speed can be controlled. A larger coil (slightly larger) usually results in a slightly higher energy factor anyway.
If YOU want change, YOU have to first change.

If you are waiting for the 'other guy' to change first, just remember, you're the 'other guy's' other guy. To continue to expect real change when you keep acting the same way as always, is folly. Won't happen. Real change will only happen when a majority of the people change the way they vote!

Original quote was for a "B", and they have given me the option of an "030 A" or "036 B" and still do the job on Saturday as scheduled.

Either one should be fine. If they go the 36, they should (not that many do) check the duct static pressure and make sure they are moving around 1000 CFM since that AH could do more.
