    RTAA 70 ton refrigerant storage to low side

    Serial number U96A32142

    Any chance I can migrate and recover over isolate and store charge in lowside (58 pounds) to change out a saturated condenser temp sensor?

    Never have tried it, I've always pulled the charge and used the oppurtunity to weigh the charge! Be interested to see if anyone says it possible!

    You can if you run the other circuit so the evap is cold.

    I've done it also. When you start it up, pull the load solenoid wire and run unloaded for 5-10 min. Shouldn't have any problems.

    if you can change the sensor without removing the saturated condenser r-22, there is indeed a respect SB

    If you have two chillers, and the loop is colder than the outside ambient temp. you can run chilled water through the chiller you are going to repair and that will migrate most of the liquid into the evaporator, but you have to manually open the EXV first. The alternative is to run the other circuit to get the evaporator cold. Either way, you will have to open the EXV, migrate the liquid, close the liquid and suction service valves, and vapor recover down to a couple PSI.
