I have seen the new goodman furnaces at a local dealer. They dont look too bad. They seem allot better quality than the Janitrol line.

I am looking for feedback on your opinion of these units.

All brands have had their problems!! Goodman as well as many other brands have had problems in the past and may have problems in the future!!

The factor that is most important is the Hvac Contractor!!

A great contractor will take care to install the proper furnace and will be able to deal with any problems you may have with your system in a prompt manner...

I wish I could tell you one brand that will not have a problem in the future or today but that just is not possible.. I have installed many brands and found that any brand, even a top of the line system from that brand can have a problem at any time..

It is a flip of a coin..

Pick a great contractor and all should be able to be rectified if a problem presents itself..

    Goodluck

Hopefully the other posters can keep this thread civil also.. Brand bashing helps no one..

Its all basically the same stuff with Goodman increasing its overall quality over the years. Anyone making claims that there are major differences simply don't know what they are talking about.

One must wonder if brand bashing is done by those who do not TOTALLY diagnose a system...wadda think?

Every manufacturer has made mistakes. Some get bashed worse than others. I think alot depends who works with you when you have problems. Same thing applies to the service company and the customer. When you are a customer and have a problem, you want a service company that works with you.

That is kinda how I feel about it. I suppose that Goodman's "in your face" way of coming to market that is unlike any other HVAC manufacturers method it makes Goodman the odd man out.

What is ironic is that Goodman is the only manufacturer that caters and advertizes only to HVAC professionals. All of the other manufacturers go directly to the public for brand recognition. Several test surveys done by independant advertizing agencies show that only about 8% of those buying HVAC systems have a specific brand preference. In contrast, 80% will go with the brand that the contractor they trust suggests to be installed.

This just might be why Goodman has grown so fast in the industry.

    My take

As Goodman continues to evolve it will get into things that it didn't do before, including marketing to the public.
