harvest is term by thermister on suction line,need more info, you can blow into float vent to emty and make machine go into harvest,what are your press on suct side,good fresh water flow needed to help relese ice

Come to find out in the middle of the plates, guess what no ice,
Wow, taught me a lesson , look deeper, Not exactly sure how many lbs per harvest this machine produces but I would say 15 to 20% in the middle of the plates if u don't look close there was no ice, therefor the float would not drop far enough to go into harvest,
Also there is a timer in the board and it was doing what it is that it does???

I recovered gas pulled vac and weight in charge,... 3 LB. 14 OZ,

I had a similar question about an ice machine which like ac's and hp's all pretty much work the same. I would look online and see if the manual for that machine is availble for download . If you got that thing there with you it would make the trouble shooting easier. is it water cooled or air cooled. If the water that cools the condenser is not the right temperature The ice wont form right and the freeze cycle will go till it trips out on error. The same thing if it is an air cooled condenser and the intake air is too hot. You did the right thing dumping the charge and wieghing back in. It is either an water or refrigeration or a controls issue .Quit looking at it as a whole Ice machine and look at it as individual systems that work together to make ice .You sound like you allready got the refrig part working. I would check the hot gas valve or whatever means of defrost this thing has as mentioned before. After that make sure the water system is doing like it should. Then check all the controls for proper operation. Do one part at a time and it will be a lot simpler. The manual would make things a Sh@*#t ton easier as it has all the operating temps for the water air and all that. I had an Ice machine that had a slew of problems and the manual just made it so much easier. Remember ice machine have to be CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN or they wont freeze a polar bears hind end at the top of the north pole. (no epa jokes please) have fun no matter when you decide to beat the ice machine with a hammer. You really need the specific technical data specific to that machine. Cause we can tell you all day long how we think it should do or whatever but really all we can do is point you in the right direction. Get the manual ,Try hoshizaki dot commy

Hoshizaki tech service # 1- 800-233-1940 check the plates ? if its making ice on top and bottom and not middle / i suspect tubing seprating from the plates seen it happen alot and they kinda run ok but will freeze up eventualy
pull the water distributers out and all the v clips and see if the plate is loose also sepration will give you a low suction reading if its not making contact with the plate

Plate & tube seperation can be caused from water flowing over the back of the plate, watch out for that. Water on the back of the plate, you get the freeze thaw effect and it will eventually will cause the tubing to seperate from the plate.

Have u checked to see if water is going down the drain during freeze cycle
