Well all I got to say about that is that I haven't contributed one iota to the slaughter down in Mexico. I haven't brought or used any illegal drugs of any kind. If everyone did that then it would end overnight. What a tragedy. Thank you very much

Not to belittle the carnage in Mexico or the death of American troop’s b but, that 58K was American troops. If you are talking about the real toll of the war include the South Vietnamese soldiers, civilians and the North Vietnamese soldiers and civilians.

We could have averted this carnage if we, as a nation, had manned-up and annexed much of northern Mexico as a result of our last war.

The Mexican peoples have suffered much. I don't see any hope for them, just a wall on the north in the future.

Thats about 9500 murders per year.
Just to put things in perspective:
The U.S. had over 14,000 last year. 1994 saw 24,000 murders in the U.S. Just think that Chicago, LA, and NY had 2,245 murders alone in 1990.

Now I know this is kind of apples to oranges in terms of the overall small area these murders occur in mexico compared to the U.S., but it kind of gives you perspective on how some of the larger cities in the U.S. aren't exactly peachy places to live either, and how bad the gang wars in this country really were.

As bad as we think Mexico is, a few countries just to their south are MUCH worse. Just look at Honduras, Brazil, and Venezuela. The crime is just spreading north.

I agree. Now we have already inherited the problems sneaking across the border without the economic benefits of useful states if they were operated under USA standards.

IMO only a business-man type of POTUS would consider the idea... and they would not 'give it away' like a goofy community organizer liberal would.
