No pride in their craft :(

Not specifically a HVAC WOS, but worthy of a welder WOS.

This weekend I had to replace some of my pipe fencing due to a car that decided to leave the highway. Luckily for the driver, the bird that flew over the pipe and ***t on it, didn't do a very good "welding" job. I used a standard 6010 rod that isn't known for looks but thought mine came out a little better than the previous attempt.

Thanks for the kudos. House was owner-contracted to the lowest possible bidder for all the trades, but the price was right. It had two Goodman units, both WOS installs. Attic unit replaced with an AS dual fuel 15 SEER and the downstairs closet unit replaced by a ClimateMaster split.

First three photos are the goodman closet install. Its hard to see in the photo but the B vent is touching the door trim and the entire run was nearly 30' horizontal. Installers did not have any clue how to install a sheet metal plenum with slip and drive clips. They taped the coil onto the furnace and put a couple of token sheet metal screws in the front and a liberal use of tape.

Last photo is the nearly finished CM install. Just need to insulate the supply ducts and cap the existing propane line.

As long as there are hacks out there installing crap like this it keeps me busy!

I love how you just slap that old furnace on his floor without drop sheets. Professionalism is more than a good install=)

It is my floor, it's tile and after the unit was installed it was replaced with wood to match the rest of the downstairs area.
