So if I hook up the "C" terminal at the two stage stat with a sixth wire and hook it to the furnace board at the common--------your telling me I can charge the non-chargeable batteries that come with...

Is that what Carrier is ----is 10 minutes? Does the carrier cut in./H20 in half on first stage. I'm finding that almost none of the 2 stage manufacturers cut input by 2.

All the batteries do, are to maintain the computer program in a power outage or if you take it off the wall. The batteries that come with any of the honeywell's (I think) are not rechargeable. So...

I thought the "C" on the furnace interface board was for the common. When (and if) the 2nd stage kicked in--wouldn't I have a direct short between 24 volt transformer common and W2?

The older Uniform Mechanical codes (at a minumum) required at least 2 sq. in./1000 BTU of duct size. And to help with whistle add an extra 20% on the return side.
