Can you please define "really slow" & what instrument would you suggest? I've talked with owners of UEI & Testo instruments & people were not happy with either due to repeated repairs.

I know this thread is old but it seems to be the most active on the subject of combustion analyzers.

My company is going to buy (next week) an analyzer for use on residential & commercial (rarely)...

    New Furnace

Riello & Beckett make burners not furnaces. You can get a Riello or Beckett burner on nearly any make of furnace. Riello parts are not at all hard to come by around here. Where you are????

    No one...

    The only "115" series I found was the G115WS-3, -4,& -5. Here's a link:

    Oil?

Are you sure it is oil & not water? Is it on the bottom of the boiler or the bottom of the burner?

    W/M Gold

I don't suggest this, or any pin style oil fired boiler, be set up as cold start. To do so invites condensation increasing maintenance costs & shortening the life of the boiler.

    Thanks for the links

Those Allstyle coils look like they may fill the bill. Haven't gotten to Summit's site yet. One of my suppliers mentioned a coil made by H2O? I can't find anything on the web other than hot water...

    Short Coil

Thanks guys. If anyone else has any suggestions, please post 'em. I'm going to try to find a web site for these Summit coils. If anyone has a link, it would be appreciated.

    Short Evap. Coil

Does anyone make a short evaporator coil? The customer has a Thermo-Pride oil fired furnace (7 years old) with a York flat coil & York "tombstone" condenser. Compressor is shot (open windings,...

    Riello vs. AFII

Riello, no doubt about it. Regardless of what you do, make sure there is plenty of combustion air. The couple of Vallants on which I have installed Riellos I used Riello's BF-5 burner which draws...

    Nhilar,
If you can convince the gumment to replace the AFIIs with Riellos, your soot problems should go away.
  15. Hearthman

Not meaning to sound argumentitive but with a properly sized chimney, why can't you fire two or more appliances into it. I see it done all the time.
  16. New Furnace 33

It sounds like you have installation issues. Look at the installation manual which came with the furnace. It shows proper venting arrangement & duct sizes. Make notes & point out the differences...

I too still have & use mine. If for some reason I don't trust the electronic, or just to check it, out comes the wet kit.
  18. Hydrotherm Pulse

Just pull your fingernails out with pliers. It will be less painful than working on that boiler.
  19. New ThermoPride

I agree with Iwannahelp. It is probably something simple but have it checked. The installer should do it gladly. ThermoPride is particular about how thier equipment is installed. They make a premium...

You mean Weil has actually moved away from their famous/infamous "elastomeric seals"? How is the Ultra put together?
  24. Heat pumps & thermostats

Set your thermostat at the temperature at which you are comfortable then leave it alone. Frequently, programable thermostats will add more to the operating cost than they save.

    Pot burner parts

Parts for these heaters age getting very hard to find. The only other source I know of is Sid Harvey. Whether or not they have the midget pilot burners, I don't know.
