    Technically, a Goodman coil would be the correct...

    Technically, a Goodman coil would be the correct coil, third party coils just can't be rated, I use Aspen coils all the time, with the equipment I sell, and have had a great experience with them.

    I don't know what your measuring the temps with, but no a 37 split is not good, you must have a dirty coil or serious air flow issue or some other issue.

    Never go outside in a hurry at night with a hand gun. I have a 12 gauge with 3" Magnum 00 buckshot 15 pellets in it, travels at 1200 fps only way to fly. :)

    Change the valve to a R22 valve, or just take out the valve, and stick in a piston. You have to do this, or it won't work properly.

    New AC system - MUCH higher electrical bill

    I've always heard the best system for in Houston is, a slightly oversized system, with a whole house dehumidifier.
