I couldn't GET to the exterior wall of my basement ... until now.
The 6" duct that appeared to head FROM a trunk line TO the outside ... does NOT.
It DOES make a last minute 90...
Okay. I can see what you mean.
BUT ... before the basement was even poured on this house ... the HVAC contractor and I had worked out the particulars for what the HVAC system was to look like.
Plenty of it.
NICE and hot :)
I mean ... :(
I have to guess here, but ... I'm 90% sure it's a zoned supply.
That picture is of one of the three trunks that come off the furnace.
ON the "trunks," on EACH side OF the furnace, are the...
Ahhh. That would be good, AND would mean that it doesn't HAVE to introduce cold/hot, dry air into the system.
Far as I can tell, though, the one that DOES run into the system ... only goes into...
There are actually TWO mystery (to me, at least) ducts ... and ... I may have to explore a bit more ;)
In peeking around in my basement ... there is another 6" duct .... open on its interior end (between the joists. It simply terminates in a 6" hole), and ... extending to the exterior wall...
I WOULD like to suggest an alternative explanation:
I have an immune dysfunction, called an "IgG Subclass Deficiency." It leaves me EXTREMELY susceptible to sinus infections, for which I have...
Got one ;)
And -- as well he SHOULD have -- my HVAC guy chuckled at it ... until, that is ... it lined up perfectly with his expensive Fluke thermometer/hygrometer ;-)
I haven't watched the...
Incidentally .... egads:
My mother WORKS in Long Beach -- near you, from what your posts say.
If you met her, you'd find her to be an amazing, inspirational, and rather incredible woman.
Again ... thank you.
Disclaimer: I'll be the first (well ... maybe not ;)) to admit that I know enough to be dangerous, but ... I had to learn a fair bit of this to work out kinks in my dust...
You pop the top.
Everything comes out from the top.
I guess I'm far less concerned about the gap between the ducts than about them using 180* turns, when 45s are recommended.
But ... I don't know what effect that (being too close together) would...
egads: you started off well, but -- once you got into personal insults -- you simply lost me.
And ... my mother ?
I'd like to -- again -- thank everybody ELSE who has chimed in on these issues...
When the HVAC installer used his (not sure of the term) TrueFlow Flow Meter, as I recall, the reading was just shy of 1060CFM, DURING the HIGH stage furnace status test.
And ... from the brochure...
commerce48: okay. Thank you.
The only part of that where I can address anything IS: you're right: it's COMFORT or EFFICIENCY.
EFFICIENCY is how you max out your SEER and AFUE, but gives...
Sure looks to me as though it allows you to set the maximum airflow limit for each zone.
I may simply not understand what "an 80k input needing 1200cfm" means.
If there ARE airflow limits set...
In the "Zoning Checkout" on the Advanced setup menus ....
I was afraid somebody was going to ask that. He said it's a setting in the "Advanced" setup menus.
I've got the "complete" Infinity Control manual. I'll take a look.
What I DO know,...
Also, I think -- at the moment -- it's a wide open question WHAT I need.
Since I have X amount of fresh air -- unheated, uncooled, and unhumidified -- being sucked INTO the system through that 6"...
Still trying to figure this one out, though:
The 60 maxes out at 1070 CFM
The 80 maxes out at 1220 CFM
From Day One, the HVAC guy set my T-stat so that the maximum CFM that COULD be reached...
No to the "hybrid heat," if THIS is what you mean:
What I DO have:
Straight 24ANA a/c
58MVC furnace, and ......
Is it ... THIS ?
I'm guessing that .... from the model of coil ... YOU can estimate...
Let me say, again, a couple things:
I'm very grateful for your participation in this discussion
I think everything you've said DOES make sense, and IS moving this situation forward, and...
With NO disrespect to my HVAC installer, I have NOT been willing to ignore the Infinity system's numbers.
And you just gave me another reason why I shouldn't.
I will put this [your...
