Erm the general consensus is fluke, i carry fluke and fieldpeice only cause i don't care about the fieldpiece breaking, and i use the fluke as a backup.. incase i need accuracy...

you can use an amp meter and thermocouple running the systems heat strips get a temp rise and calculate cfm's by applying cfm's = (ampsxvoltsx3.413)/deltaTx1.08 loads cheaper than flowhood /...

almost sounds like an obstruction did you get a pressure reading during this phenomenon?
