I left a message last week for the HVAC company on the voice mail, but they say they didn't receive it, will see how long for them it takes to come out and fix it. I think it's not an urgent matter...

I'll make sure the HVAC guy fixes the filter, and the level thing.
Is it true that I could flash water under the high corner of the unit to settle it level?
I already wrote down to buy...

I went with the local guy. I like to give biz to locals. But if they screw up they won't get biz next time. But sometimes or often the locals simply refuse biz to newcomers :-) I had 2 local HVAC...

Beachtech, that's what I wanted to know: "short compressor life".
Welding, I mean you can de-weld or un-weld as well.
Then Goodman must be having a recall, I'll call them to find out.

Thank you for the suggestions. I think it's stupid for the Goodman company to make an airhandler that can't change filter in it. It's like making a car that you can't remove wheels without welding...

First of all after they installed it, it was like November or December 2007 and at night the heat pump started cooling instead of heating. They came and fixed that. Now one non-hvac contractor told...

Thanks very much for your fast reply. How important is the leveling of a heatpump? The dealer told me it's ok if it's 1 1/2 " off level, buit I can notice with my bare eye that it is not level.

I hope someone can help me with this simple question:
Is heat pump outside unit horizontal leveling important? In other words, I just checked the newly installed HVAC unit (Goodman...

dn0121: Thanks. What usually is a result of a serious static pressure issue if any happens?

Since this forum was started by professionals then I won't get back to the pricing issue as it's not in the interest of professionals and it is perfectly understandable. Thanks.
To: BergerMech Rob, I was not complaining or saying that the motor is not working or at fault, I am saying it is nice so far and I like it and I asked to share experiences and opinions about variable...
I've got GOODMAN 4 Tons, 14 SEER, 15 KW strip R410A refrigerant heatpump with variable speed motor blower air handler I think SZ014 or something like that. The thing comes up like a wild cat slowly...

QUESTION: There is a professional members only forum here, why not create a forum for consumers only and allow discussing pricing on that particular forum alone?
QUESTION: is it okay to "cheat" a...

When I asked them if I switched to A/C would it be heating my house instead of cooling, he said no. Perhaps that helps to understand the case.
I'm not going to put prices up against the house...

That list is funny. Estonia, a former Soviet republic tops the list as #3 freedom-of-press country. Which is a true fact. Same Estonia is listed as the #7 most competitive economy in the world in...

I still think that we should have a forum where we could discuss pricing issues.
Wall Street does the price thing, auctions do it as well. Why not have a consumer forum where they could discuss...

Now the heat is working. I'll take photos of the wiring and other parts of the installation some day soon and will post them here.
I got infraction 5 points for pricing, but I am really curious...

1. Load calculation run was not done. They said it's unnecessary.
2. Actually I found out access to the crawlspace from the basement, I hope they did inspect the ductwork from there, that's why...

We just got a new heat pump installed yesterday, November 14 in Columbia, South Carolina area. Tonight is the test night. 45F (+6C) outside and the heat pump went on and it's been on for an hour...
I have bought a pretty old house, but in a pretty good shape. It was livable, but had no A/C. Everything I'm doing to it is quality. I'm making sure that someone who buys it will appreciate all the...
Reading some of the "professionals" and "dealers" posts I'm kinda terrified. I'm sorry for Amerivcans and the kind of service quality they get in USA. No wonder houses are built from crap and...

Thanks Toolpusher, the technician showed me the "switch" (no actual switch, just a wire going into the body).
Well they fixed...
