nothing wrong with a beckett nx. very nice burner as a matter of fact. once you get used to them you'll like them.
been selling them 15 yrs & no problems yet. although, i do size & install them properly. does make a difference.
10 gauge heat exchanger on the centennial. 14 gauge radiator. no heat exchanger problems with the cenntenial. you're thinking tempomatic. can't see the big deal over a copper spraypainted radiator....
go with a williamson centennial. 10 gauge heat exchanger, beckett burner. thermopride,13 gauge heat exchanger, italian burner tough to get parts for.

is your condensate drain working properly? i had an m2 once that was popping & going off on vent safety & it was because the drain line was kinked & water was boiling in the hx.

maybe it's because of turbulence or something. long radius elbows? static pressure test will tell. you don't have insulation or anything in the inducer or heat exchanger do you? i had one where the...
also, your intake is not sucking in exhaust air is it?
i had a vent safety switch tripping on an m3. it was a draft in the wall behind the thermostat.(marriage wall)caused the furnace to short cycle. sounds like you need to do a static pressure test....
maybe you'll get lucky, & some cold dreary night you'll get to work on that cop's furnace & show him what a beating HIS wallet can take.

those new "army" furnaces are better than the old ones. ac's too. don't they look like army green?
going miller would be better.
don't forget to consider : oil = 140,000 btu per gallon
nat gas = 100,000 per therm lp = 91,000 per gallon. oil is still your bet fuel, the burners are just as clean as gas when done right. ...
