I tried a hard start kit with no luck. It did start for a few secs then turned off. Wouldn't start back up. Those few secs that turned on...

Used the zx-1 and it worked great. Sensor went out more than id like too. Sold that and bought a tif xl1a not a good idea. It wont detect leaks as good as the old zx1.

Someone stole the aluminum from the condenser. And left the compressor and fan. Unit was working and its off of a rheem 7.5 condenser.

No burned wires on the compressor. They look to be in good shape and clean. I will try the hard start tomorrow

Fixed orifice. Cap reading on my fieldpiece read 34 on the compressor side. Its a 35/5 cap. I tried a new cap on it and had the same problem.

Compressor wont start just makes a whining noise when trying to start every 40 secs or so. Condenser coil was clogged with dirt/debris never been cleaned in its whole lifetime.

Amp draw goes up...

would be a nice weekend project opening one up :)

i wonder if its just out of position. And maybe turning it upside down once and see if it gets back into position before buying a replacement.

Compressor is making a rattling noise after being installed. It was removed working with no noise from another condo from the same landlord. But now it makes a rattling noise. No oil was spilled...

I saw an ad on the newspaper on someone selling a powermax recovery unit. He got it on a debt that someone owed him.

It turns on. But is there other ways to test it? I think it is the oiless type....
