I know for minisplits they make them. But that can’t handle the GPMs of a larger split unit such as a 2,3,5 ton etc. of long term may have a short life span if ran often.

I was asking because motor wise it’s so easy to do. They sell those little Skeleton motors in dual voltage ratings. But as you mention the power cord tip. Could be the reason for it.
That is all good information. I appreciate the good feedback.
A question I always had. Why do they not make dual voltage 120/240v condensate pumps? Would be nice to stock 1 pump.

Hey guys. I have a customer with a very old mammoth screw chiller. I’m looking to find who rebuilds this type of screw compressor. Currently I’m sure the compressors are not original. The tags are...
Have yall used mega press on chilled water piping? I’m wondering how well it holds up.
NO I’m not referring to PROPRESS. That’s for copper. Mega press is for steel pipe.
I appreciate both replies. I did a combination of both recommendations. In the hole I used foam tape. But I wrapped it inverted to not stick to the push rod until I got a tight outer diameter if...
Got a customer with a walk in box. The pushrod /release is getting jammed up. I see ice on the push rod. So this means there is moisture coming In from the outside lock side into the freezer door....
Sorry I been away from this thread. I have more experience now with IAire. I seen this notification in my email that you replied to the thread. The extreme vibration. Most likely your scroll...
Hi to all! Not sure if this is ok to post in this area? I did not see an employement section.
So as the title says. Any confident techs looking for a new company? Or even new techs that you feel...
Yea that one would be the best fit for the application. I downloaded the Kason catalog as pecmsg suggested. I was impressed on the stuff they sold. Of course the standard closures, handles and hinges...
I know it’s not going to stop the theft problem. It’s too many people that will have keys. I told them I think it’s a waste of money.
I agree 100%. I got locked in a walk in cooler before. It got scary quick. Lol I’m 6ft 230lbs. The night manager did not know I was inside working. All my tools by the door outside the cooler never...
That’s a nice idea. Also I do want to incorporate some emergency release. I don’t want someone getting locked in and it’s on me. I was thinking like a Wi-Fi lock. And 1 person can unlock remotely.
I seen that lock. A question can you lock in the plunger piece so during the day the door swings normal? I’m worried with the plunger staying out. The door will not fully close on its own. Then ima...
Looking for ideas. Right now kitchen has obvious walk in cooler box then a separate walk in freezer box. Currently has a pull handle on each door. The adjustable strike has been removed. The door...
Hahahaha 🤣😂
I just rechecked them both at -20 degree evap and 100 degrees ambient. Looks be be pretty close. The new Copeland shoes to have a little more capacity. I attached 2 screen shots
I’ll check it in a bit. I looked it all up about a month ago when quoting the job. I believe with r404a it was a close match. I can’t find my scratch paper notes of when I did my homework on yhe job....
Hahaha yea man your right. It’s for a freezer box temp -10f. So evap temp -20 when looking at capacity rating. Also the condenser will be outside but I will put a sheet metal dog house. Now...
The existing unit indoor evap m# CTE36-53-DE
Condensing unit AWA2464ZXDXC. The evap is like new. In great condition running r404a. I’m going to swap the condensing unit only. I’m going with the...
Yea man I hear ya. The crazy thing is a lot of times it’s such any easy visual diagnoses. You start to realize they were just not paying attention or just don’t care. It’s crazy. I never get upset...
I have 1 tech. So it’s 2 of us. People say “oh man hire more guys” yea it’s not that easy. The same thing with this account. The daikin guy did a leak repair on vrv unit. He burnt a communication...
Yes I agree the electronics can be more advanced. Also I don’t care for the account much. But it’s an old folks home. I take care of 6 different facilities. This is a newer facility they just took...
I hear ya. I would love to go to the training. But I don’t have time to spend a week in Ohio. I work crazy hrs 7 days a week. 15-20 hrs a day. Some nights I sleep in my van at the job site. Straight...
I am looking for the hand held tool or maybe the computer program and cables to connect to the Daikin vrv units. Maybe a tech on here has the stuff but does not use anymore etc. I’m looking to...
Yea I noticed JB has .055. I was looking at their conversion chart and I seen the .055. I asked today 2 distributors I was at today. But they only stock supco. I’m actually went with the bc3 .052 @...
I opened the supco package. Supco offers their own conversion chart. It comes out to a 67” cap tube.
Wich app is that? I searched formula creator. But formula car race apps came up.
On another note do you think I should use the .052? Or should I use a smaller diameter cap or should I use a larger...
Yea there are a few several cap tube charts etc. I was kind of trying to stay along the lines of the original cap tube if possible. But I may cross over to a completely different size tube,
I clicked on the link but it’s not working, the calculator pops up but when I hit calculate. It says error 404 page not found.
Manufacturer calls for 96” of .055 ID cap tube.
I have the supco bc3 it .052. ID . It’s so close in the real world I think I would be fine. What is you all’s opinion on it?
To give an update. I weighed in the r410a. Removed my guages then started it up and let it run. So far it’s cooling good. I did not see the operating pressures 😢. Because the top metal cover...
Before ordering the new inverter board I ohmed the compressor winding to winding seemed ok. I ohmed the compressor winding to ground. I did not Meg the compressor windings to ground though. While it...
Nope. I did not notice a cooling fan on the heat sink.
On this model I seen the heat sink right behind the inverter board obviously it absorbs the heat from the inverter board. I did notice there are 2 condenser fan motors on this unit. The condenser...
I forgot to add this info
I was ohming the 2 filter/chokes that sit alone. Now thinking of it. It might be referring to the 2 choke/filter on the little circuit board.
Lg condenser m# ARUN048GSS4. S#702KCHE12M01. It’s connected to 3 indoor heads.
Originally it was not running and giving error code CH23. Said bad inverter board. I checked basic things and I...
Cool. Thanks for your replies. That night I was going to add 410a. But I said “naw let me try to get the real r32”. But I will be there Monday 7am to weigh in the charge of r410a.
So a maintenance guy drilled a hole in a brand new condenser coil of a little wall ac unit. He was afraid management will chew him out for it. Lol I told him don’t worry I fix it and not make an...
Good info:
This unit is 3 years old. It’s maybe 10 miles from the beach. So real close but not too far either. I seen the corrosion your talking about on other units. I always wanted to rub a...
1 outdoor condenser m# MXZ-4C36NA2-u1, connected to 4 indoor floor mount units
m# MFZ-KJ09NA. 4 days ago I get a complaint that zone C is not cooling but other zones are ok. So I check the unit....
It just scooted in there. I purchased the heavy duty eye bolts. But that left too much slack on top. It would not clear the railing. So I strapped the compressor tight with the compressor all the way...
It pretty much went as planned. Except rolling on the roof. The hoist originall had 3” casters. I knew that would not roll. So I welded on 6 new 8” casters rated for 1,000 lbs each. Or I think over...
Haha, yea man he works hard. He tried to move the compressor when sitting on the roof. That compressor didn’t budge. I thought 700lb pump motors were heavy. For me this is the heaviest I had to lift....
Well guys I finally got this job done. I was waiting on 2 condenser coils from York for this circuit. I did not want to put the compressor and leave it exposed to moisture. One thing I did not like....
Once it’s blended in my book it’s trash. I was not planning to keep it at that point.
I always told them from day 1 nope I won’t put anything other than r22 in the unit. I learned my lesson years ago explain in the original post. I wanted to help a customer so I proposed a r407c+...
