Are you sure it's not sucking cold air. It sounds like a return keep it clear. I find too many customers covering returns because they think they are blowing cold air.
If thats the plastic inducer housing it's probably cracked anyway so go ahead and have it replaced.

The company I work for is factory authorized. If you aren't happy with furnace I think Carrier will give refund. I'm not sure how long they give or how much refund though.
