Cut your cleat two 2" longer than your duct.
Snip two of the three folds 1" back on both ends.
Round off the edges to resemble a "dogs ear".

I would recommend taking a look at the brand YORK I dont know what type of metal is used but the coil is coated with a film.
YORK is the coil your looking for. They are coated w/a antimicrobacterial film.
