I agree the inducer probably should come on as...
I agree the inducer probably should come on as well as the blower to be extra safe and clear out any gas (if the gas valve opened).

Oversized furnace
Well, it looks like I did it. The furnace blower seems to be too big for the ductwork. When I slow up the blower the heat rise get high, and even will trip the furnace off on the hi-limit.
