Homeowner changed the filter recently. Now has one of those "HI EFF" filters from Home Depot.

On your first comment, what are you meaning by "kill" the condenser?

On the second, the condenser may come up to full speed during daytime hours, but will begin ramping again once nighttime comes...

Got me on this one. Goodman package unit with VS indoor blower. Limit on blower housing had failed(wouldn't reset). Replaced limit temporarily with manual reset version(same temp range)...
