I like my 902, I wish it could read mA dc so i wouldn't need another meter. But i have to say it works well in the cold, 15 today on the roof and it worked great.

I use a box that staley makes, 20 bucks from lowes, does what i need it to do.
I'd get whatever airflow issues/ ducting issues you have resolved then dive into the rtu and find out why that 2nd stage isn't kicking on... untill you do that you're gunna run in circles...
Was there any balancing done after the zone system was removed????

Check your superheat, pop the sensing bulb of the txv off the suction and watch your pressures and superheat when you do, see what happens.
Too much water pressure can do it too.
Just a lil concerned w/ just pushing in a contactor, they do blow apart sometimes especially if the circuit is off on a safety for a reason.

I can't say i haven't seen that mistake, makes for a nice mess.
I like to install them, even w/ motor starters, a little redundancy doesn't hurt.
Alot of drives have phase protection biult into them as well.
