well, not to complicate matters, but the warranty certificate does indeed back up what the guy said, it appears to be 5 years on everything.

I agree with this. I try never to use the "hold" and just use the "override", so that it goes back to the program at the next change. But if programmed, and a semi-regular schedule, they work...

Are you sure they are identical? On lennox.com (I assume dave-net is their professionals site), they look the same at first glance, but aren't.
