sorry I was talking a bout the refrigeration circuit not the water circuit.
I was in a D2 exam in Ct and they was asking questions about fire system and fire standerds.
it's risky, and could couse a lot of trouble like what you just said.

The heater should be connected so that it operates continuously.
you have to make sure that the heaters is in the right location, and have the right timing, not a short time that will be not enough to melt the ice, and not a very long time that will vaporizing it....
