    If the TXV is really bad, only part of the coil will be wet & sweating. I've seen 2 bad TXVs in a row, sad to say :( They are made in some 3rd world country by someone making 50 cents an hour.

    My guess would be the same. It is flue gases condensing which is exactly what inside is. The water is less acidic than the cola you drink but the the constant dripping is what causes the problem.
