Check the contactor, if the contacts are bad you can get a current imbalance between phases in the compressor motor-causing overheating.

Sounds like a classic restriction to me. You are no doubt aware the metering device is in the ODU. When you pull the refrigerant out, you can put your pressure taps any where you want them.

Sounds to me like the bearings are worn, main and or rod bearings. The excess clearance between the crankshaft and bearings wont allow oil pressure to stay up.

It sounds like you have a restriction in the filter drier or metering device.
Sometimes inexperienced "techs" will add refrigerant...

Dont forget to check the hot gas bypass valve. If it is adjusted wrong your superheat will be high and your capacity will be reduced.
