The new generation Lennox are a whole lot easier though.
Maybe it's just me, but pulling the burner box to clean the flame sensor seems a little much! I'm not picking on the brand. We all know that...

I am no longer working for a Lennox dealer. Overall I think Lennox is no different than any other product, but the Pulse, G20, and the SLP98 were a pain! Oh and for those of you who have had to clean...
I find removing the rubber tee easier, but if it hasn't been serviced before, you have to fight with it a little to get it off. 1/4" stubby nut driver and some patience. :.02:
No apology needed!
I take my work very seriously. I may be anal here, or sound like I have OCD, but I would still like to know the code, section, etc.
I just read through section 6 of the...
Thanks Gasguy. I know that applies to gas pressure relief devices, (3' or 1m in the electrical code) but does that also apply to BBQ quick disconnects?
I have been licensed for over 15 years. I own, have read thoroughly, and have a better understanding than most (of the codes) of the latest edition B-149.1-10 including the most recent updates. Maybe...
Not too difficult, if you are a pro. Get your technical post count up and apply. You may need some proof of credentials.
Apparently his friend, (who was an electrician in Europe) told him that it is dangerous. I told him he may get a shock if he tries to plug the BBQ into the electrical outlet! LOL.

I recently attended a call where the HO just moved in and is concerned about a BBQ quick disconnect outlet (equipped with a gas shut-off) is about a foot away from an electrical outlet. The home is...
Ok, I'm done whining! Now we can get back to learning. LOL
I understand that in order for me to keep my job, the company needs to be making money. That is not the issue here. My work is being completed in the allotted time, but I think the boss may be...
I started working for my current employer about 6 months ago. Most times when I go to a PM (regular customers) I hear, "you take a lot more time than the other guys" and have to explain why. Without...
Started working for a Lennox dealer about 6 months ago. Before that I didn't have much interaction with the product, and found them a little intimidating. Now......different (maybe).......difficult...
With all due respect. It sounds like you don't know what you are doing. So please call someone who does, before someone gets hurt! Or worse!
Thanks membership committee! I look forward to learning and sharing!
I'm sorry, I guess you are rite. Forgive me for being exited about using this site. I was not trying to be pushy. "Just like a kid before Christmas" LOL
Hey guys, my name is Louis from Ontario, Canada eh! I have been in this trade since 1998, mostly as an installer. I have been doing service work for about 2 years now, and have learned quite a bit....
Definitely not easier to remove burner box on G61!
Are we talking no start or fail to start after pre purge?
If the inspector came to that conclusion based on a visual inspection alone.Without any testing? Then retarded he is!
When I was trained on the G61, they told me to remove the burner box cover and rubber exhaust boot to access the sensor, so I never really looked for an easier option. furnacedoc are you saying it's...
Did you check your gas pressures, and clock the meter? Maybe you are over-firing?
I guess I can wait till March for the CMX show in Toronto. Lots of good stuff there.
Thanks for all the great replies guys! I know about the great products you suggested and I'm sure I can purchase them online, but when I pay that much money for something I like to try it out before...
Could anyone tell me where I can find a good multimeter for hvac in the southern Ontario area. I'm tired of carrying around 4 multimeters! Need one for clamp-on amp + volts + ohms/continuity + ufd +...
WOW! I was going to buy a new deburring tool, but that looks like a much better investment.
I really have to type faster! LOL
No power to inducer motor. Can't be a bird.
The Lennox G61 series is another tough one. Unless your a smurf! Best tool I have for these is patience. Takes less time to remove some parts to make room, than trying to force it and break...
Oops did not read all posts before posting. My bad! This is why you don't post this early in the morning. LOL
Your wiring diagram shows all the nc switches .If you think you missed one? Process of elimination will tell you if you're right.
I understand hearthman, and agree 100%! I have gone to many calls where problems occurred because of improper or poor wiring.
Although it has been a few years since I worked on a Vermont...
Oh right. I know what you mean. Engineers don't like to be questioned by us, who actually do the work and have a deep understanding of how things work. LOL
I would do it right. You don't want to risk HO running an overcharged unit. Why piston?
What's wrong with the thermostat on the comfort control remote?
Guess they won't need that secondary heat exchanger much eh?
I always go with manufacturer's instructions. Some recommend no mesh or screen of any type.
Why do HOs think it's such a great idea to cover their air intake and exhaust on their high eff. furnace with window screen material? Does anyone else find this often or is it just me? Had 3 cases in...
Is this a recent problem, or going on since installation?
If the work you are performing is warranty related? Then I would not give the Ho an option.
If you think it's a lot of work now ( and it probably is, if its located in the condenser housing )
then...
I have not worked on Heat n Glo products for a while, but I recall that some Intellifire systems required field installation of the flame control solenoid. An incorrect installation of the solenoid...
