Can you use a ultrasonic leak detector in a case with the evap fans running? Trying to find find something else to chase co2 leaks with. The inficon co2 leak detector is a turd.

Sounds like you need less but longer defrosts. Maybe 4, 50 minute defrosts a day.
Its not the breaker Dennis. Like the guys said, cycle every load off your relay boards, defrost solenoids, defrost contactors, split, reclaim etc. My cell over here is 508-889-3383 . Tim
Nice to see that service is going with Hussmann. IR/Trane can kiss my ass. Tim
I had the same problem at a Target this week. Same board too. Lost the board twice, for about 10min each time. Raining like a bastard, went up checked everything, went back to the controller to see...
I'm not sure if they are in Norwich Ind park, they come up as being in Colchester ct.
No, it holds back to prevent to high of crankcase psi. Shouldn't have any effect on refrigerant charge.
I would look into eastern refrigeration, and allied, both are down in your area. Sounds like you have pretty good experiance. I have a D-2 in CT, I went to school late too. The cost and time were...
I have got nothing. If they announced anything, it wasn't to us.
It should be announced today who's buying.
Yes, technically they already have. Trane management has been in control of Hussmann service for over a year now. Only difference will be, that we won't be affiliated with Hussmann any more.
Kind of similar to our situation here. Our Hussmann branch is non-union, the local trane branch is. I have no idea how this is going to workout.
Not sold yet, supposed to be sold by the end of July. And no, service and install are not part of the deal.
The ohms scale on the 902 is useless.
Any chance you sucked water into it? Mine just did the same thing. Carefully, disassemble the pump, and dry the diaphrams. You can see if the pump is the issue, when it is on, is it sucking on the...
Looks like a octopus to me. New install/ store conversion. I don't know who was worse, the refer tech or the electrician.
Funny thing is, I looked like a hero while I was there. I found a bunch of leaks they never knew about(suction line in a wall behind a frozen case, picked it up 40ft away), multiple blow outs they're...
No, blue.
The yellow jacket accuprobe is a pos. Last supermarket outfit I was supplied my with a new one. Used it at the same time as my personal H-10PM looking for 404a leaks, the accuprobe was not nearly...
We definately need pics. Sounds like the customer needs to buy some cases for the fruit and salad. What an abortion.
You didn't answer his question, Are you charging the first customer of the day travel time? If you are, and you aren't paying the tech for the said travel, then we know who the thief is.
Wrong distributor for hot gas defrost, was flowing through the orifice screwing up your defrost?
I eat 1hr each way, and it sucks. Work 10hrs to be paid for 8. This will probably help push me into working for myself.
Thats a dairy case, with a liquid line sol. What do you think are the chances of water getting in during the offtime/defrost? I know there was alway positive pressure, but I still wondered if we will...
I have got another one. 4th day on the job here, one of the guys leak checked this market with his yellow jacket and came away with nothing. I couldn't run the H-10 on small or med, and this is what...
If you got the code and lab hrs needed to get licensed from your school, then your doing just fine. I have seen a few guys lately go for licenses and find they need more code hrs, not good.
I agree 100%.I don't and have never used auto either. I started a new job today. Still doing market work, but just for a different contractor. I knew they supplied Yellow jacket leak detectors, and...
I don't think you read the rules.
Exactly! No reciever, if the valve doesn't feed properly, liquid stacks up in the condenser, then what do you think happens to your head psi?
Definately something with the valve. Last one of these turds I looked at in a Rightaid, no suction accumulator, no reciever, no door switch for evap fan. If the valve isn't feeding, the head would go...
Pull it apart again and clean the txv strainer, if it doesn't have a strainer you can clean, replace the valve.
That doesn't seem like trouble to you guys? I would think the customers would be getting porked heavily if you put service techs on a comission of parts sales. We have guys that I know for a fact...
Your right, the numbers flucuate alot compared to the cost of living. No, I wasn't saying you had a bunch of illegals working for you. What I meant about being closer to the border hurting the trade,...
I don't know if that was meant for me because of my post, but around here not even a brand new guy out of school would take what was listed here. I see your a owner, apparently down there you can get...
The stuff described is worse than just sweeping floors, its demeaning. Who ever wrote that has no respect for service technicians and what we do. I would rather keep working 2700 hrs a year, keep my...
I'm sorry for the guys. I support a wife and two kids on my salary, and I guess I have been very fortunate with some stuff. The trade sounds like it is in much worse shape there than it is here. I...
I hope this is a joke. If this is what the trade is like in AZ, then I'll remember to stay the hell out of there. You could quadruaple the salary, and I still wouldn't touch it. I would leave the...
I interviewed with one of those company's in Mass last week. I wasn't impressed, I found out why noone was jumping to fill that position.
Never seen a zerozone rack before, didn't even know they made them. Looks good, now if you could just get rid of the cpc.
Have you checked to see if this is on a deidicated circuit? If they have another load on that breaker, I could see this happening when it goes into defrost.
If they don't enforce the license what friggin good is it?
I agree with Maints, I was thinking around 18 an hour.
Our startup guy was speaking to the Hill rep yesterday, I guess we are going back in and changing all the other valves. They aren't sure if we are going with e3's or e5's. As far as I know, there...
The E3 valves were working that night after we installed them. I'll try and get back there tomorrow and see how things are running. Interesting about the inverted traps. I did not see them, but I...
Interesting, I'll try this tomorrow. I'm going to a store built by another contractor, with a few starving cases on the far end of the store, with a rack that runs like this. Tim
I don't think it is a moisture problem, but I am not the tech that did the startup. Solenoid valves are before the handvalves, on the inlet of the evaps. I did not see any inverted traps there.
...
Not to me. Valves seem to work, tonight. Spent the rest of the night looking for a glycol leak on the medium temp. Never found the big one, just a few small ones.
I fought the exact same thing with a 4 year old Hussmann rack yesterday. R-22, large rack with med and low temp, electric defrost on the low, very large liquid header. 40% rec on arrivall, 75 degree...
They are having us install E3 valves tonight.
It probably is the smart valve, the trouble was the driver, it didn't work on the laptop we had. We'll have to try it again.
I'll take a few pics tonight while I'm in there. As far as the case/evaps go, its just the evap with a 3/8 solenoid before it for temp and defrost control, and electric heat. The rack/ chiller setup...
