I would think this would cause problem on both sides, but, did you check to ensure that bin stat is opening when ice hits it and shuts the unit down so ice does not back up into evap

I agree sounds like may have separation on that evap. ice did not drop properly during harvest and built up. seen them with waves in it if you look down or evap moves if you grab a grid and tug on it

thought about it afterword. after I typed it. got that whether it be r22 404 or 410 with a dirty condenser would have be 6 one half dozen.. I have not seen any units with 410 in them...

I assume u mean on a non-blend.. how do you get close and then go vapor. then doesn't that mean that the refrigerant coming out of the tank in vapor once you start charging it vapor in for ex 404a no...

could go back to condensing unit manufacture and ask them. with a headmaster, they should be able to tell you how much refrigerant to add just after the sight glass fills to insure you are charged...

isn't there a spec plate or info like manufacturer with model and serial you can use to find out what the correct charge was for r12. i believe hotshot if i remember right was 80% of original charge...

I agree, whenever I replace a compressor, I always change out the start components. start component on a three phase being the contactor. In my opinion, better to be safe then sorry. Seen it before...

first i would say if the unit is running way deep into a vaccum and you yourself had not jumped out the safety then i would say either the safety is defective, set way to low or someonelse jumped it...

except if you have a frozen evap in a walkin freezer that the drain line is frozen up. gonna be messy no matter what. how messy it is, is all in the preperation.
