I received two of those letters so far. As stated in another post, it appears only horizontal furnaces are at issue.

The heat exchangers, burners, and 'joints' are in question. Nothing specific...

There are things to check like the ohms on the compressor and fan motor, checking the charge and so on...

Then there is checking the overall condition of the system like rusting out, condensing...
