Common problem, use Rubatex(tm) glue or contact cement on the joints and seams. You'll get a nice airtight seal and it will look much nicer. Using tape or wire ties still allows the seams to open...

It could also be a sign that the filter is stopped up.

AC equipment has no defrost cycle (cept for heat pumps in heat mode) so a frozeb coil means no airflow, hence no cooling.
