The account I had, through winter the loop was cold due to most of the units being in heating mode, if loop got too cold boiler fired, but not enough units were cooling to over heat the loop in winter

I've only had a couple of accounts with wshp systems. Some had a piped bypass of the tower bundle, and it would be drained. But if water pump or boiler fails I can see your concern.

Don't they valve off and drain the tower come winter?

I use R-290 (propane) for the balloon burners, bbq grill, and additional MPG on my diesel pickup.

Red dot don't do ammonia, so of course if it doesn't have

All I was saying is if when the machine is shut down, if water is still flowing through condenser it is definately a bad valve. Nothing about plate. I've come across many machines where they were off...

Don't forget bridge thickness

Shut the unit off. Is there any water flowing through the condenser? If so, valve is not seating, no doubt bad.
Upside, you can change the valve without reclaiming system
charge by using a torx...

Frank, 3 stage is a 3 impellar machine,with inlet guide vanes, and economizer, and 3rd stage vanes, vanes modulate for unit capacity. allthough I could be wrong.
