I would say anything over 110 degrees will put...
I would say anything over 110 degrees will put you at risk for stress cracks to the chiller barrel.
I'm no chiller expert by any means, but just saw one crack with 108 degree water entering. -

I agree with thermofridge, it's probably not a refrigerant issue. Try the nickel safe cleaner and maybe some food grade silicone spray. Works every time.
