I would agree with you. BETA testing at best
Here is your second opinion; call a competent company the individual that is feeding you this fodder has not a clue as to what is going on. merely washing the outdoor coil can drop the head pressure...
I do not think he is asking for DIY. But if so contact a company in your area and the will provide you with the power vent and installation you probably also have a gas water heater
both are power vent kits
I would agree highly over reacting.
if a paint smell was bad enough to evacuate I would have had the fire department check it out with an air meter and it would have pinpointed the source and...
The system itself is not the problem.
Set up and commissioning is.
Call company back and ask to have system set up information. Fan speed, sub-cooling etc.
Outdoor and indoor humidity are not...
wall cavities for return air is a terrible idea along with using floor cavities. cut drywall ind install enclosure material or duct work.
I agree
check your energy saving set up in the programming.Being a smart stat it looks at different variables and adjust depending on your selected mode
there is an issue and they need to repair. law requires them to provide you with heat that can produce 68 degrees at design temperature in the occupied space during the winter months
Poor t stat location. Low r value of envelope.Air leakage. If your house is loosing two degrees every 5 minuets then there is something wrong.
what do you consider to be a very old Trane system? Could you post the model#?
I have mission statements from most top tier manufactures of equipment and compressor manufactures that want relay and capacitor to match specific compressor electrical requirements.
Good option. I would suggest also to test static pressure before and after filter install.
Unfortunately without knowing what caused the failure, such as installation issues, power brown outs etc. At this point replacing the outdoor unit and flushing indoor would probably be your best...
I would agree. Cold header seal is leaking age of furnace does not warrant repair cost. Most probably not a C/O issue involved since your furnace is a positive displacement with high and low pressure...
negative pressure is probably the correct answer. Air from the furnace duct work leaking outside the envelope causing negative pressure in occupied space drawing air down chimney
i would agree
I would agree. Air flow distribution issue at the least along with over sizing is probable
If this individual was quallified to work on water source equipment he would have had the correct tools and taken the correct measurements.
You could call the company back that you paid good money...
I would agree. With Jim and Bill you will not find better technical support or products supplied by TTT
With those pics it is clear the transition difference between the furnace and the evaporator coil. it should ha a transition between the two to have even airflow over the coil.
Water side of the system is probably the issue.
The building supplies the cooling tower
wow for a 6 year old unit!! I would have goten a second opinion. No pun intended. The equipment is quallity and you should have gotten many more years ot of it.
i would agree with both responses. it is a bad idea and will not work.
Just because it was "profesionaly" installed in itself does not make it a correct solution to a bad duct system.
Danny would you please go to my profile and Email me if you get a moment.
Thank you
Llisten to the sound of the unit, turn it off for an hour or more and restart and take notice if compressor comes back on. The compressor could be off on thermal overload that could be caused by...
A short answer would be no. The geographical location and amount of cooking would be the biggest factors to consider.
It can be done but is not the best way if either of these two factors are...
Sad, but true
Even in defrost?
[QUOTE=jim69;21930821]everyone tells me that but after 2 different "professional technicians" I still have the buzzing sound. What I am looking for is someone to tell me what the issue may be so I...
Replacing the duct to the register could have an ill effect in several ways. The velocity of the air could decrease and the flow diminish or increase and cause a noise issue. Both the duct and the...
A common issue with multiple story homes. Temperature gradients between floors will cause air current to travel through duct system
filter selection should be bases on the total static pressure of the equipment and duct work, not selected by merv rating.
Most systems that are installed are over restricted for even a merv 8....

More information such as type of duct added to the new returns along with size and length will help give you a better answer. In short the 4 returns alone will not suffice.
Cut the cardboard area leaving approximately 3/4 of an inch around the perimeter.
Depending on the velocity of your return air the bag filter that was chosen can be dramatically higher than the one inch MERV 8 pleated. At 375 fpm the pressure drop is 0.34 at 625 fpm it is 0.64.

Flip the unit provided you still have service access to the equipment.
11th digit in model # of furnace should be a V "variable speed"then blower tonnage. Your outdoor should be a two step scroll

A union fitting shall be provided for appliances connected by rigid metallic pipe. Such unions shall be accessible and located within 6 feet (1829 mm) of the appliance.
Counter Strike is a superior product with a carbon composite sheath. Bonding is not required by the manufacturer but is still required by code to be bonded and requirements should be followed.
Your contractor made a good recommendation, and is approved by the FDA
I would agree, it is not the light but the installation. Anything organic in direct line of sight of the UV light will be effected. The wiring insulation is organic along with filter media etc.
Each time a fixture is used in the house there is a siphoning action taking place in the vent stack.
As stated report to the gas supplier and it will be resolved quickly.
Your application does not require anything unique. Most all equipment can be mounted in multiple positions.
Contact a Trane dealer for a new gas furnace.
