The only difference between the 30lb drums of 134a is the connection. For HVAC/R the drums have 1/4" flare. The automotive drums have an acme connection. The refrigerant inside the drum is the same....

I think the L Series (now Energence), are some of the best rooftop units on the market.

A lot of my job is as described above, plus we do hot side. I'll take working on a rooftop any day.

Update: Lennox NAS is on-site. There techs have diagnosed 28 bad condenser fan motors and 82 bad contactors. They have decided its more cost feasible to replace the units rather than repair.

Think of the poor bastards that got called in on a Sunday to deal with that lot...

The cube looked like the bridge thickness could stand to be a little thicker. Make sure it makes a full even sheet, but I think that's you're problem.

Is it installed on a new Manitowoc bin? If its a used bin any chance there is some kind of ice deflector in place that the ice is hitting on.

Is the bridge thickness too thin, a small piece of ice could break off and get stuck holding the curtain open?
