I have a new installed York YP9C with all new duct work. I have the unit matched with York Communicating T-stat.
The furance seems to work fine, however, as the modulating furance is scaling up...

Yes, I have the Luxaire LP9C -- which I think is the same exact unit as the York YP9C -- so yes has the same modulating mechanism. Thanks I was leaning toward that unit as well, my only concern was...

Does the comm stat make the unit run more efficiently?

I would love some feedback on the best t-stat choice for this unit. The furnace is matched to a 16 seer York 2 Stage A/C unit.
The choices I am looking at are:
York Affinity T-stat...
Thanks for the feedback Motoguy. I have been considering changing the Koi pond pump to something with less energy usage -- but I really need the high flow rate to keep the fish alive -- Catch 22!!
Thanks for feedback everyone. It is very helpful.
In regards to the electric bill it has been crazy high. We have a ton of 4" recessed lights in the house with 40W halogen bulbs. Last month I...
So what is the suggested size given the audit/load report?
That is what I am being told -- that a single 5 Ton (York YP9C and a 16 Seer A/C) can easily handle the entire house. However -- given the numbers from the report -- that seems like a bit of overkill.

Are these 2 units identical? I have 2 quotes -- one is quoting the York and the other the Fraser Johnston.
Thanks in advance for any feedback/help.
Thanks Motoguy -- great advice.
Our house is more of a split level, than a 2 story. The only part of the house that is on the second floor is the master bedroom. I had originally thought about...
Any other feedback on this -- aside from running the manual J process again? I really want to right size this system.
I am strongly leaning towards the York YP9C, which has a modulating/variable...
Jimj, I did not insist since the energy audit company did a great job -- they had all the right equipment and software to calculate load. None of our local HVAC contractors I've talked to have the...
jimj, the Energy Audit company did Manual J. Here is the sentence from their report: "Each room’s airflow requirements are calculated using ACCA Manual J." they provided some nice graphs showing CFM...
I am new to the forum -- but have spent a lot of time reading posts on this amazing resource.
I have a question about an HVAC replacement. I got an energy audit last year and implemented a number...
