prob a 1000 opinions out here but my advice is to buy the filter you actually change.

i have seen co-workers go from dewalt, Hitachi,porter, rockwell and makita... still use my rigid x3.

thats where the 4 should go and eliminate the little 1" gap filter spot. i do not like 4" filters a 1" often checked/replaced imo is best

i wouldnt put my name on it but i have seen some shotty work, the gap could be where the filter goes but whats with the cutout on the side of the box ? looks like your gonna save half on your toilet...

looks like a filter grille on the side of drop plenum is what you need.i never do multiple filters, lack of airflow is a systems worst enemy.the gap between the furnace and the plenum is fine to foil...
