How about if you must put the wrong size in, you just get you sharpie marker and mark down the correct size inside control panel. I like to mark when I install parts anyhow.

A 2.5 ton compressor in a 3 ton condensor is like the new hi-efficiency units with the larger condensor coils. It could work OK for a/c but noway for a heat pump.

Not too many years ago they had standing pilots that wasn't 100% shut off.
That mean if pilot went off it would not allow main gas but pilot gas remained, not allowed on LP gas. -
